Aura reveals what lies beneath the surface of the skin and measures the angles, distances and proportions of the face and neck. The device enhances your consultations by showing the condition of several skin layers in exceptional detail and showing the different facial structures in a quantitative way. This lets you work based on visual and quantitative evidence rather than assumptions. Using the Aura for the first time is truly eye-opening, as it reveals concerns like pigmentation irregularities, vascular conditions, wrinkles, blocked pores, proportions, angles and distances. These insights help you create effective treatment plans with confident treatment recommendations. Aura is the crucial first step in your patients’ journey toward healthier, more beautiful skin.

Aura analyses wrinkles, pores, red areas, brown spots, and texture on face and neck.

Aura reveals a comprehensive range of face and neck skin concerns and facial structures:

  • Brown Spots (age spots, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, freckles, moles)
  • Wrinkles including fine lines
  • Texture (skin irregularities caused by pimples or scars)
  • Red Areas (circulatory irregularities and vascular conditions such as rosacea, skin irritations and inflammation)
  • Pores
  • Proportions, angles, and distances of the face
  • Vectors (lifting effects due to thread lifting, face lifting or any other lifting treatments)
  • Volume (changes in the geometry of the face due to fillers or implants)
  • Treatment simulations on different areas of the face

We offer personalised demonstrations from our local team. To schedule a demonstration, book a demo on Aura’s website, and the team will connect you with a representative for a demo that shows exactly how Aura will enhance your specific practice.

No special requirements are needed; Aura neutralises light and background for standardised images. The compact device, similar to an average screen, includes a height-adjustable stand and requires a power socket.

The Aura App is available on Windows, macOS, and iOS (iPad only), but not on Android or mobile phones; ensure your device meets the minimum technical requirements.

AURA 3D Imaging System is state-of-the-art in design and is both intuitive and simple to useSetup takes very little time and you have a full Customer Success Team behind you every step of the way to ensure you are setup for success easily integrating AURA into your practice.

Aura is small enough to fit in your carry-on baggage and is easily transportable. Use whenever consultations take place, enhancing flexibility and accessibility.

Yes, the device is easy to set up and disassemble. It comes in a padded and protected hand luggage/carry-on for easy transport between clinics or on a flight as needed.

Capture data is initially stored locally on the device used, but the software package includes cloud storage for access from any laptop or tablet within the clinic.

The Aura device guides the patient into position, capturing all data in less than a second and completing the process in under a minute. Data processing time varies by device, with iPads and MacBooks typically taking less than 60 seconds.

The full consultation discussing the findings, typically takes 15-20 minutes, though this can be adjusted to fit your practice workflow. Many practitioners find that the visual clarity provided by Aura streamlines the consultation process while simultaneously increasing treatment acceptance.

For better results, always ensure hair is pulled back and out of the face (a headband is recommended) and the full neck is exposed and free from clothing (sweaters/collars).

Aura reports are fully customisable to match your practice’s needs and branding. A report can include:

  • Selected Aura images showing different facial perspectives
  • Selected Aura images showing different skin conditions
  • Selected Aura images showing different facial measurements
  • Highlighted areas of concern
  • Your professional annotations and notes

Yes, Aura reports can be easily shared through multiple channels: email, print or AirDrop if using Apple devices. The reports serve as powerful educational tools for patients and help reinforce your treatment recommendations long after the consultation ends.

You can give patients a detailed, customisable PDF handout and use our social media sharing option for screenshots and video recording.

For the most accurate view of the skin, we recommend performing analysis on a clean face, but not immediately after cleansing. Ideally, there should be some time between cleaning and analysis, as cleansing products can temporarily affect the skin’s lipid levels. This approach ensures you’re seeing the skin’s typical condition rather than temporary effects from cleaning products.

In addition, it is strongly advised to make sure the hair is tied away from the face to get the most out of the capture.

Our skin analysis features have been iteratively developed and refined in collaboration with leading dermatologists, who have confirmed their accuracy for their intended purposes.

Yes, using special filters and ad hoc algorithms, the Aura device measures melanin concentration in the epidermis without needing Wood’s light or UV light, with sun damage indicators visible in brown spots and texture features.

The Aura device uses specialized lighting, filters, and camera technologies to detect more skin defects and deeper layers than the human eye can see.

Yes, the initial treatment simulation feature has recently been released and will be expanded in the coming months.

The Aura device is “Swiss Made,” with its entire assembly line located in Switzerland.

The most effective promotion happens when patients experience Aura as part of your consultation process—the results speak for themselves and generate word-of-mouth referrals. Beyond this natural promotion, we recommend:

  • Featuring before/after comparisons on your social media (with patient permission)
  • Including information about your advanced 3D skin analysis technology on your website
  • Positioning the Aura in a visible location to spark patient curiosity (at the entrance/waiting area)
  • Creating special “Skin Discovery” events where prospects can experience the analysis
  • Training your staff to mention your advanced 3D skin analysis capabilities when booking appointments

This depends on your practice model, but you can:

  • Offer complimentary analysis as part of your standard consultation
  • Include analysis in a paid consultation fee that’s applied toward treatments
  • Create a comprehensive skin analysis package that includes Aura imaging plus additional assessments
  • Provide free initial analysis but charge for follow-up progress evaluations
  • Integrate the analysis seamlessly into your treatment pricing strategy
  • Many practices find that even offering the analysis at no additional charge significantly increases their treatment acceptance rates and package sales.

We recommend making Aura an integral part of your initial consultation process. The device creates a powerful visual story that enhances patient understanding and acceptance. Most successful practices use Aura to:

  • Discuss the patient’s skin condition with Aura analysis
  • Discuss the patient’s proportions, distances and angles with Aura analysis
  • Generate before and after images to visualise and track changes on the patient’s facial structures and skin quality improvements
  • Educate patients about their specific concerns using the visual evidence
  • Develop personalised treatment plans based on what is revealed
  • Take progress pictures after treatments to show improvement
  • Capture final results to demonstrate the full transformation
  • This approach turns the consultation into an educational journey that builds trust and demonstrates your expertise.
